Attach Media to a Placeholder Workflow
eMAM now supports export of sequence from Adobe Premiere panel and attach media to an existing placeholder in eMAM.
What Attach Media to a Placeholder workflow does?
A placeholder is first created in eMAM. From the Adobe Premiere Pro eMAM panel, you select the sequence and the placeholder, define export and encoding settings, and submit the job. After processing, the media is attached to the placeholder and is available in eMAM Director.

Before You Begin
- In the Setting window, under Default Panel settings, enable “Enable Export Sequence & Attach to Placeholder”

Attach to Placeholder Workflow Steps:
- Create a Placeholder: In the eMAM Director, Browse widget, List view, click on
to create a virtual asset (placeholder) and add metadata to it.

- Click on Create new asset icon.
- Asset Metadata window opens up. Enter File name, description under Asset details tab. File name should be added with extensions. File name without extensions will be treated as Other files.
- Similarly, fill in Ingest Profile, Projects, Categories, Tags and Custom Metadata tabs.
- Click on Create button.
- A new asset gets displayed in the Browse widget.

- Attach media: In the Adobe Premiere Pro, ensure sequence is ready to export. In the Project Export tab, click on Attach to Placeholder.

- In the attach to placeholder, fill in below details:

- Sequence: Choose the Premiere Pro sequence that contains the media you want to attach.
- Placeholder: Choose the placeholder in eMAM.
- Export format: Under Export Settings, choose the required Export Format, such as H.264.
- Export preset: Choose the Export Preset that meets the required output specifications
- Choose the ingest profile: Under Encoding Settings, select the Ingest Profile that should be used when the exported media is added to eMAM
- Submit the job: Review all selections and click Add. The panel submits the sequence for export and eMAM ingest processing.
- Verify in eMAM Director: After the export and ingest are complete, open eMAM Director, locate the placeholder, and confirm that the media is attached and playable. The exported media is attached to the selected placeholder in eMAM Director. The placeholder record remains associated with its existing metadata, while configured ingest processing is applied to the newly attached media.
