This
calculation is complex and it totally depends on the concurrent users,
incoming and outgoing content traffic. We can split the bandwidth
utilization of eMAM into 3 different categories:
- Low
resolution traffic - we are encoding the low resolution proxy file at
1Mbps bit rate. When 100 users are connected to eMAM system, eMAM web
server will consume 100 Mbps outgoing traffic to serve the requirement.
- High
resolution traffic- This bandwidth is directly related to the
customer’s daily ingest, archive, restore and delivery of the content.
- Metadata
traffic - This is another factor that can increase the bandwidth.
Suppose, in eMAM Director Interface, 100 users select 100 Assets per
page, which adds up HTTP and database traffic in and out of the servers.
eMAM Support ISCSI (1Gbps), Ethernet (1Gbps, 10Gbps) and Fiber Channel (4Gbps, 8Gbps) to route various traffic.
