Optimizing R3D Transcoding Configuration For NetX Code Transcoder

Optimizing R3D Transcoding Configuration For NetX Code Transcoder

By configuring your NetX Transcoder appropriately, you can significantly enhance the speed and performance of transcoding R3D files. This guide outlines the necessary configuration steps for achieving optimal performance.

To apply this configuration, ensure that you are using NetX code version 7.0.0.903 or higher.

Step-by-Step Configuration

Before proceeding with the configuration steps, please stop the NetX Code services.

Go to the Services menu and stop the following services:

1. NetXBase

2. NetXCmd

Access the DDR Config App: On your transcode server, open the DDR Config application.

You can find it at the following path: C:\Program Files\Net-X-Code_7\DDRConfig.exe

Navigate to Advanced Settings and Expand MediaReactor: Within the DDR Config app, select the "Advanced Settings" option, then locate and expand the "MediaReactor" section.

Select the R3D Plugin: Within MediaReactor, further expand the "Plugins" section and choose the "R3D" option.

Adjust the Resolution Setting: In the R3D settings, enter the value "4" in the designated box and apply it. This setting adjusts the resolution to quarter resolution with good quality. Alternatively, you can set the value to "4" for half resolution with good quality, depending on your performance and quality requirements.

Restart the NetX Services: After completing the configuration, please start the following NetX services:

1. NetXBase

2. NetXCmd

By following these configuration steps, you can optimize your NetX Transcoder to handle R3D files more efficiently, resulting in faster transcoding times.
