What is the difference between Copy & Move Category?
"Copy" & "Move" are important category functions in eMAM.
Copy allows
users to copy and paste a category and assets under it to another
category. This does not duplicate an asset, it only creates additional
asset pointers. Move is also same as Copy function except here the original category gets deleted. "Move" option will move the whole category (including assets and sub categories) to another category.
A category when copied/moved to another category- users will have option to select below options:
- Inherit parent category permissions: If enabled, category will inherit permissions under permission tab of the destination parent category.
- Inherit user group assignment from parent category: If enabled, category will inherit permissions under Security tab of the destination parent category.
